Course aim
To learn about the foundations of technical philosophy, to understand the cultural integrality of technics. To promote humanitarian thinking skills.

Course description
The course presents the origin of the concept of technology and the review of the evolution of philosophy of technology. Students get acquainted with conceptions and works of the most prominent philosophers of technology. The phenomenon of technology is explained not only in an empirical way but it is also interpreted in the point of ontological, gnoseological and systemic structural views. Technology is given sense as an element of culture, as one of the most important factors of the development of the society. For this reason the consistency of historical development of the system ,,man - technology" is analysed as well as antropological and axiological valuable aspects of the formation of modern information knowledge society are revealed. The course also covers sources of globalisation challenges towards the individual and other cultures as well as the origin of their negative effect and humanisation possibilities.
